Instructor Members Certification & Expiry Policy
Paddle Canada Instructors:
For Paddle Canada certified instructors, please check with Paddle Canada for current policy

ARCA Instructors:
For ARCA Certified Instructors and Instructor Trainers, this is the current policy effective May 1 2007:
Certification expires at the end of the 3rd season of certification. Re-certification must take place before the end of the 4th season, after which the instructor will have to retake the whole course. Re-certification must take place at an ARCA sanctioned instructor re-cert or at a sanctioned Instructor course at the discretion of the directing IT.

Candidates will also submit trip logs for the 3 year duration. Candidates must have completed a minimum of three (3), three (3) day trips in the three (3) year time period.
Instructor Trainers (IT's) must attend an IT clinic once every 3 years. It is expected that the IT attend a clinic for their highest level of certification. Hierarchy (waterfront, river instructor, river trip leader). If an IT cannot attend the appropriate IT clinic, they must then appeal to the ARCA Education chair to find an alternative solution
Re-testing of the instructors skills and knowledge is part of the recertification process.
